Vías Verdes y Red Natura 2000: Discover Spain's Natural Treasures
Vías Verdes y Red Natura 2000 is a free Android application that compiles information about over 100 greenways and their protected natural spaces. These greenways are old railway infrastructures that have been transformed into non-motorized routes, offering a sustainable tourism experience across Spain. With over 3,300 km of greenways already in place, this app provides a detailed study of the biodiversity and natural heritage of these routes.
The Fundación de los Ferrocarriles Españoles, with support from the Fundación Biodiversidad of the Ministry for Ecological Transition, has created this app to integrate and promote the biodiversity of protected natural spaces along greenways. The app includes search engines for itineraries, geo-referenced maps, technical sheets, and environmental information in both text and cartographic layers. It also provides altimetric profiles of the routes, photographs, and other useful information such as directions and resources of interest.
